The Meadow Roll Sampler

Product Code: 637

This gorgeous project was originally a design by Jane Greenoff and published in a couple of issues of the CSG magazine (Stolen Moments) and is now available as a complete kit. Inspired by early band samplers, this is still a sampler but instead of working down the sampler from top to bottom, the project is worked across on a piece of linen band.
Jane says... "Continuing the theme of a band sampler rolled away, I thought this would be a novel way to create a sampler, which could, of course, be wrapped around a silk covered box if preferred to our wooden bobbin. I suppose I can trace the beginning of this idea to a visit to Cotswold Lavender last summer where many of the fields were set aside as flowery meads and simply took your breath away!"

The bobbin is hand turned by our wood turner and may differ from the one pictured.

Stitched on a piece of linen band using stranded cottons with counted cross stitch and additional counted stitches.
This pack includes linen band, pre-sorted stranded cottons, tapestry needle, chart, hand crafted wooden bobbin and illustrated instructions.
