This special sampler was designed by Jane Greenoff and beautifully stitched by CSG member, Christine Berrett and was offered as the class when Jane took a party of stitchers to Assisi in Italy. The project is worked in a combination of cross stitch, backstitch and Holbein stitch (otherwise known as double running stitch) with some additional hemstitch bands. The example in the picture has a hand worked folded hem which is optional but included in the illustrated instructions
The motifs on the sampler are inspired by the patterns seen in churches, hotels and private homes in Italy although Jane as blended the colours of the threads used to echo her preferred palette.
The pack includes 28-count Cashel linen, pre-sorted threads, seed beads, beading needle, Perle threads, charts and instructions
