Sugared Almond Scissor Stand and Humbug

This sweet, little stitcher’s sewing set is made up of a scissor stand made from an oak cotton reel, wrapped with stitched linen band with a little humbug shaped scissor keeper attached to a pair of tiny chatelaine scissors. The embroidery technique used to create this exquisite pattern is called Hardanger embroidery, which originates in Norway in area of the same name. If you have never tried this technique before, this is the perfect project to stitch. The little humbag shape has a basic Hardanger motif in the centre and the pack comes with fully illustrated instructions.

The Hardanger stitches are worked in a lovely Oliver Twist space dyed cotton thread so every version of this lovely project will be unique.The needleroll is made from linen band and you can keep your gold plated needles safe inside.
