This special collection of projects was inspired by, and charted from, the amazing sampler created by Catherine Archer whilst a pupil at the Muller Orphanage in Bristol, England, during the 1800s. The complete chart for this sampler is available in Charted Antique Samplers. There are four pieces to complete the set which are all stitched on unbleached 28-count Cashel linen. To complete the set you will need two kits as explained below. Both kits include the fabric and the antique style red checked ribbon as well as fully illustrated instructions.
The Hussif is stitched rather like a band sampler and then folded to create the pockets.
The Needlebook, Biscornu and Chatelaine are stitched in pure cross stitch and then completed as instructed.
