This Beautiful Baskets Sampler is design by Jane Greenoff for the Cross Stitch Guild. It was inspired by a collection of dutch Samplers. It originally appeared in our member's magazine and is now available as a kit in either 28-count Linen or 14-count Aida.
I've had a few people contact me to tell me that the 'J' is missing from the Alphabet. This isn't a mistake, it is intentional. Traditional Dutch Samplers were often missing the J and the U.
I've taken the following exert from the National Museum of America website. "Many early samplers do not have the letters “J” and “U” in their alphabets because they were not part of the early Latin alphabet and so the letter “I” was used for “J” and the “V” for “U.” The letter “s” is often replaced with the printers “s” which looks like the modern f."
