This traditional little design is stitched on non-evenweave linen in stranded cottons (floss).
This exquisite pocket sampler is made by hand and when folded is kept closed with a weighted eyelet band. It has decorated pockets on both sides, a needlebook and needle pad, pearl buttons, vintage glass beads, blending filament and full colour instructions.
This brightly coloured band sampler would be an ideal first attempt at this very popular type of counted embroidery. The borders are taken from an old Czech sampler, kindly allowed by Zweigart and Sawitski.
Hemstitch Flowers is the first in a series of challenging projects not intended for the novice. It includes hemstitch square and additional counted stitches. Worked on 28-count Cashel linen.
This is an exquisite project to stitch with a large variety of counted stitches and small Hardanger motifs worked on 28-count unbleached linen.
My example was completed with a folded hem, but this could be framed if preferred.

Each pack includes an alphabet chart but no threads.
This special project was inspired by, and charted from, the sampler created by Catherine Archer whilst a pupil at the Muller Orphanage in Bristol, England, during the 1800s. The complete chart for this sampler is available in Charted Antique Samplers. There are four pieces to complete the set which are all stitched on unbleached 28-count Cashel linen. The kits include the fabric and the antique style red checked ribbon as well as fully illustrated instructions.
